Kemal currently serves as the VP of Community Engagement at VyStar Credit Union, overseeing the organization’s pillars of giving/sponsorship, volunteerism, and community activation. Kemal joined VyStar in 2019 as VyStar @Work Program Manager from 121 Financial Credit Union where
he served as the Vice President of Business Development. Kemal has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry and multi-unit leadership across the southeast and has spent time at Winn-Dixie, Axiom Bank and Truist. His experience includes roles such as Branch Manager, Field Training Coordinator, District Manager of Customer Service, Division Resource Manager and District Manager of Financial Wellness. Kemal is a graduate of Leadership Jacksonville Class of 2019, Leadership Florida Connect Class X, Hightower Emerging Leaders Fellowship and United Way’s Stein Fellowship Program.
A lover of everything Northeast Florida, Kemal is heavily invested in the community aligning his passion with his purpose. Kemal is the Board Chair of the KingSoutel CRA Advisory Board appointed by Jacksonville City Council, Changing Homeliness Board Member, Gator Bowl Chairman’s Club, Literacy Alliance Board Member, 904ward Race Cards Steering Committee Member and Executive Advisor to Shades of Success VyStar Employee
Resource Group. Due to his commitment in the community, Kemal has received numerous awards such as Top 40 Under 40 from the Jacksonville Business Journal, Top 30 Under 30 from Buzz Magazine, Top 20 Under 40 from the Florida Black Expo and has been featured on various media
platforms such as News4JAX, BUZZ TV, and National Credit Union Foundation Field Notes sharing his passion for financial well-being and meeting people where they are in the community.
Kemal received his bachelor’s degree from Strayer University and is a current MBA student at The University of West Florida.
